A Company Built on the Legacy of Cat Machines: The Story of DXT

Every Caterpillar customer has a story, but DXT’s journey is particularly unique, rooted in a deep connection with Cat equipment. DXT, a leading construction and civil engineering firm in the Nordic region, owes much of its success to these machines.

Peter Hedendahl, co-owner of DXT, has been passionate about Cat dozers since childhood, growing up in his father’s construction business. He fondly recalls riding in the cab of a Cat D7 dozer alongside his father, sparking a lifelong fascination with the brand.

Peter began working with his father at 16 and eventually took over the business in the 1970s. Back then, the company was small, and Peter managed everything from forestry to airport construction, with only two Cat machines in his fleet: a D8 dozer and a Cat 953 Track Loader. Owning a D10 dozer seemed out of reach.

However, in 2016, a unique opportunity arose. A friend informed Peter of a D10T dozer for sale from a mining company in Northern Sweden. Peter and his partners seized the chance, successfully bidding on the machine. This pivotal acquisition led them to establish DXT, named in honor of the D10T dozer that marked a turning point in their business.

Today, DXT operates a fleet of Cat machines, including three D10s. In 2023, Peter traveled to Peoria, Illinois, to witness the assembly of the first Next Gen Cat D10 to be sold in Europe. The machine’s advanced features and fuel efficiency make it a valuable asset for DXT, reinforcing Peter’s loyalty to Caterpillar and his appreciation for the support from his dealer, Zeppelin.
