Case Construction Equipment has expanded its mini excavator lineup with the powerful and stable CX38D, a 3.9-tonne machine designed to improve jobsite performance and operator comfort. Compared to the popular CX35D, this new model offers greater stability thanks to a wider undercarriage—120mm wider—and a weight increase of 430kg. An optional six-way dozer blade adds even more versatility for grading and clearing tasks.
The CX38D features a longer dipper arm for extended reach, with a standard 200mm increase and an optional 250mm upgrade. This gives operators better access to difficult spots and deeper digging capability. For those needing extra lifting power, a heavier counterweight option is available.
Hydraulic systems on the CX38D are enhanced with load-sensing technology, allowing for precise, simultaneous control of all functions. Low-effort joysticks with electro-proportional roller switches offer smooth and intuitive operation. Up to three auxiliary circuits can be controlled seamlessly, expanding the machine’s attachment versatility. Improvements in hydraulic architecture increase breakout forces, lifting capacity, and swing performance.
The dozer blade’s float function helps operators level surfaces and clear debris efficiently. Features often reserved for larger machines, such as electro-proportional flow control on the first auxiliary service and electro-proportional engine rpm control with auto-idle, come standard on this model.
Operator comfort is a focus with an optimized full-size cab that retains zero tail-swing for tight working environments. New footrests offer more floor clearance while enhanced air vents improve ventilation and defrosting. The air conditioning system’s main components have been repositioned to the upper rear spoiler, further improving rear visibility and maintaining zero tail-swing vertically.
The CX38D includes a more advanced digital display and extra storage space inside the cab. New anti-theft technology eliminates the need for a second key by using a secure immobilizer system.
With integrated telematics, the machine sends real-time data and alerts to dealers, customers, and operators, enabling proactive maintenance and better jobsite management. Serviceability is simplified with a cab structure that tilts forward for easier access during repairs.
