Harbour Lights Campsite, a picturesque family-run site in Haverigg, UK, has received its first CASE CX85E midi excavator. The excavator, supplied by Dennis Barnfield, is equipped with the advanced Engcon EC209 tilt-rotator and a Trimble 2D machine guidance system, offering improved efficiency and versatility for various tasks on the expanding site.
The campsite, which accommodates tents, motorhomes, caravans, and static holiday homes, is growing rapidly with plans for 100 new static home plots. Jason Attwood, the owner, will use the CX85E for tasks including the construction of concrete bases for these plots, as well as landscaping work across the site, which features lakes and water features.
Mr. Attwood, familiar with a variety of older machinery, selected the CASE CX85E due to its proximity to Dennis Barnfield’s service center and the comfort of its cab. He highlighted the joystick-controlled tracks as a standout feature, which makes maneuvering the large site much easier.
The machine’s counterweight has been upgraded to enhance lifting capabilities and stability, making it well-suited for operating with the tilt-rotator. Powered by a Stage V diesel engine, the CX85E delivers 53.7kW (73hp) of power, while the hydraulic system’s customizable settings provide operators with the flexibility to adjust performance to their preference.
As the campsite continues to expand, the CX85E will play a vital role in meeting the increased demand for holiday homes and enhancing the overall site.
