Develon releases its first mini wheel excavator

Georgia’s Suwanee-based machinery manufacturer, Develon, has recently unveiled its latest innovation, the DX100W-7, a compact wheel excavator engineered specifically to maneuver through the narrow and crowded urban construction spaces.

This newly launched excavator combines the best of both worlds: compactness and agility, with the added benefit of achieving travel speeds of up to 24 miles per hour, placing it amongst the fastest in its category on the market today.

Andy Jeong, the mini excavator product manager and compact engineer at Develon, expressed enthusiasm about the launch. “The DX100W-7 marks Develon’s inaugural foray into the mini wheel excavator segment in the North American market, offering our clientele a solution for tackling projects in restricted spaces,” Jeong stated. He also highlighted the excavator’s array of features and advanced technologies that contribute to its superior performance, efficiency, and top-tier operator comfort. Jeong added, “With the introduction of the DX100W-7, alongside the DX17Z-7 mini excavators and the upcoming DTL35 compact track loader in July, we’re thrilled to further broaden our line of compact equipment.”

Positioned within the 25,000-pound class, the DX100W-7 is powered by a 100-horsepower D34 diesel engine. It comes equipped with customizable steering, power, and work modes, allowing operators to tailor the excavator’s performance according to specific job requirements.

Additionally, the DX100W-7 features a robustly designed articulated boom. Incorporating an extra pivot point into the boom swing mechanism significantly enhances the machine’s operational range, lifting capabilities, and digging force, as emphasized by the manufacturer. This design advancement ensures the DX100W-7 excels in versatility and efficiency, marking a significant step forward in Develon’s compact equipment offerings.
