Doosan is launching a new generation of mini excavator in the United States and Canada

After a preview of the machines at a 2021 trade press event in December, Doosan Construction Machinery North America has now built four new generation 7 series mini excavators in the United States and Canada.

The initial launch includes four models, and more mini excavators will be announced in the coming months, according to the company.

Designed and built by Doosan, these new machines are equipped with a range of Doosan engines and diagnostic machines.

The first four excavator models include zero-tail Rotary type DX27Z-7, DX35Z-7 and DX50Z-7 and reduced-tail Rotary type DX55R-7.

With the release of DX27Z-7, Doosan hopes to expand the appeal of its mini-excavator lineup to meet customer demand for smaller machines.

“This is an important milestone for Doosan as we bring a whole new line-up of mini excavators to North America,”said Aaron, product and dealer marketing manager Says Aaron Kleingartner. “A few years ago we expanded the production of mini-excavators and the response from dealers and customers has been very positive. We can now offer a range of mini excavators designed by Doosan, ranging from 2.7 tonnes to about 9.0 tonnes, to meet customer demand.”

Performance

The Doosan-7 series mini excavator are equipped with newly designed platforms to enhance structural durability and robustness of the machine.

According to the company, customers can increase the productivity of the-7 series mini excavator by adding counterweights.

In addition, the additional counterweight improves the structural durability of the excavator while allowing offset excavation without the need to reposition the machine. At the same time, the counterweight design improves the side capacity of the lift.

As an option, a long arm design can be selected for the new model. This longer arm provides greater range, dumping height and digging depth for the operator. Doosan said some customers prefer to upgrade to long-arm designs and avoid buying larger excavators to increase excavation depth.

Versatility

Each new model of the-7 is available with accessories, including buckets, quick couplers and thumbs. Quick couplings reduce the time required to convert attachments, which can affect the productivity of operators and ensure correct bucket-to-excavation requirements.

The excavator owner can operate approved accessories such as Auger, hydraulic breaker, presser, ripper and grab to further expand the use of the excavator.

“All of our-7 series mini excavator have a quick-coupling design with an auxiliary hydraulic system at the bottom of the excavator arm,”says Klingatner. “Customers don’t need extra accessories to install quick couplers on the mini excavator. We also provide adjustable auxiliary hydraulic flow to optimize the response of hydraulic accessories, including thumb, hydraulic breaker and Auger, the flush face connector at the end of the hydraulic hose can be connected quickly and conveniently.

In addition, a second hydraulic unit can be added for those who need to operate multifunctional accessories and require additional hydraulic flow. For example, secondary auxiliary hydraulic systems are ideal for use with mini excavator rotor attachments.

Comfort

The Standard configuration of the Doosan-7 series mini-excavators is the enclosed cab, which features heat dissipation, air conditioning and multiple vents throughout.

Additional floor space is provided by a heated seat and folding pedals for further operating comfort. In addition, an open umbrella can be used as an option and comes with a rollover protective structure (ROPS) .

To improve visibility from inside the cab, the-7 series mini excavator is designed with all-glass frame doors to provide a clear view of the area next to the machine.

In addition, a new rear-view camera can be used as an option to increase the visibility of the backhoe. This particular option requires the machine to be equipped with a 5.7 inch liquid crystal display.

Standard led lights illuminate the work area to ensure that the operator can see the excavator working group, especially the accessories, while working in the low light area.

The joysticks of the Doosan-7 series mini-excavators are now similar to those of the large Doosan crawlers and wheeled excavators. This makes it easy for operators to move from a mini excavator to a larger machine, and vice versa, and operate with more confidence. On the right joystick, a thumb switch controls the excavator’s auxiliary hydraulic functions. A thumb switch on the left-handed joystick controls the swing of the excavator’s boom.

Serviceability

A swing-type rear baffle and a side vent cover provide easy access to the excavator’s engines and pumps, valves, cooling systems, and hydraulic systems. Daily maintenance supplies such as filters, liquids, Air Purifier and batteries are also easily accessible. A centralized Grease House makes it easy for the operator to properly add the grease to the machine. Additional maintenance features include a battery disconnect switch and color-coded and labeled wires and hydraulic hoses.

Doosan telematics

Doosan mini excavator is the first introduction of the standard remote information processing system. That little thing On-board remote information processing system and Doosan-7 series of mini excavator supporting the use of user-friendly remote monitoring and maintenance. The system works with larger Doosan construction equipment, where owners can monitor the entire fleet through smartphone APPS or web browsers.

In addition, users can use the system’s anti-theft function to remotely track the machine. When a machine is moved out of an area, the system can notify the owner. When a machine is running for an unauthorized period of time, the system can notify the owner.
