Due to the performance and reliability of the Volvo ecr58 model, as well as the services and support provided by Volvo’s utility dealer “Plant and Engineering Services”, a new Volvo EC18C HAS BEEN DELIVERED TO RJ Brooks & Son Ltd, a factory employee and ground works contractor at mini excavator in Devon.
RJ Brooks & Son Ltd is a family owned crediton focused company with Devon taking on a wide range of ground works contracts, from small private sector work to large scale projects of more than # 1m. The recently added mini excavator is Mr. Brooks’s second Volvo machine and was chosen because of his previous experience with the ECR58. “The EC18C is an ideal size for most of the small projects we undertake,”says Mr. Brooks. Based on our past experience with large machines, I have to say, I can’t argue with this product. “It is also a reaffirmation that we can count on the services and support of Volvo’s local dealers, as well as the plant and engineering service teams to do so,”he continued.
To improve the versatility of EC18C RJ Brooks, a hydraulically operated inclined bucket has been obtained and is well suited for classification and backfill applications. The machine is also used for hammer work, and the functions of hammer and tilt are easy to achieve due to standard fitting of hammer\/shears on the machine.
The new Volvo EC18C is one of four models weighing between 1.5 and 2.0 tons and is a direct replacement for the EC15B XTV model. Powered by a 12.3 kw (16.8 HP) engine, the machine features automatic two-speed travel and an expandable landing gear as standard. A major change to the new model is that the hydraulic hoses for the excavating equipment are now installed through the boom, with the cylinders mounted on top to minimize site damage.
The machine is supplied to Rj Brooksville and Sons Ltd. with a complete cockpit-a canopy version is also available. The 1.8-tonne mini excavator can also be operated by a load-sensing hydraulic system that allows rapid circulation even when performing multiple functions. Maximum depth of excavation is 2.3 meters.
A one-piece hood provides unobstructed access to all engine components, while the Dashboard provides a clear view of all key functions. The CAB is easy to clean the hydraulic system and main control valve of the flat lift.
