KUBOTA & KOBELCO Delivers Mini Excavators to a Demanding Market

Following the success of the U series two years ago, Kubota launched their latest mini excavator in the unsuspecting market. KUBOTA regional sales director said their latest U48-5 is built on the U Series Platform (mini Tail Rotary Excavator) and weighs just 5 tons, the excavator has improved its category of bars and performance enhancements from an Ergonomic perspective, adding Comfort with a range of custom options for the operator, a great improvement over excavator-rental machinery.

Operating at just over 500 kg and producing about 40 horsepower, the KUBOTA U48 held its own. The machine can dig nearly 11 feet deep and maintain a bucket breaking force of almost its own weight of about 450 kilograms. With two versions (canopy or cockpit) , the new U48 offers greater comfort than its predecessor, adding head and foot space, which is vital to prevent excavator operators from getting tired of the bay.

Other notable features include extended visibility through the front glass and a finer structure, allows more light to enter the light balance through the front window’s strategic skylight and increases visibility through the window’s left and right diggers. The KUBOTA marketing director also pointed out that almost the entire design of the KUBOTA machine was based on feedback or input from project site managers and, more importantly, from the excavator operators themselves.

Intense competition within the heavy machinery\/industrial factions has led to competition among manufacturers to provide market-relevant, practical and reasonably priced machinery, with one notable competitor being the KOBELCO excavator leasing machinery. KOBELCO’s ed160BR-7 blade runner proves this, because the next ed160BR-7 blade runner is a two-in-one machine that provides a short-radius excavator and a bulldozer, this basically means that construction equipment will be able to have two different machines for the price of one.

With a power of 105 horsepower and a weight of 15 tons, this blade runner stands out more than any other excavator/bulldozer in its class. Equipped with patented 6-way expandable blades, the foldable edge makes blade runner easier to transport than other machines in the 15-ton category. Blades make this particular model ideal for some tasks, including site preparation and grading slopes, which usually require a backhoe and a bulldozer working side by side.

ED160BR-7 improvements have made operators more efficient and productive, as the model has a dynamic excavation force of more than 12,000 kg, which means more work can be done in less time. The most unique element of the blade runner is the ability of the machine to lift and sway while moving all the time without losing torque, even in the management of steep or rugged terrain. Blade Runner looks like a clear winner for Kobelco!
