John Deere has updated both of its mini excavator machines for limited workplace tasks. The new 75g and 85g anti rolling tail excavators are powered by a 57 HP engine and meet the final requirements of Tier 4 by using a self cleaning diesel particulate filter.
The 75g weighs 18,221 pounds, has a maximum depth of 15 feet, 1 inch, and a 6,902 pound arm. The 85g works at 19,564 pounds and has a maximum depth of 14 feet 10 inches. And 6,902 pounds of arm power.
The salient feature of these machines, Dill says, is the manual proportional auxiliary hydraulic system, a standard feature that allows the operator to run the attachment at an ideal speed.

“For delicate work, the operator can go very slowly, like digging up a landscape stone, or moving at full speed, opening his thumb and dropping debris,”says deere, a deere product manager. Combined with standard pattern converters, rubber pads, standard blades, these machines come from the factory and can be used for a variety of wall mentions using rubber tracks, and heavy duty rubber belts are available, and allow the machine to work on paved surfaces, or even intersections without causing damage. Dill says many track widths, buckets and other options are available.
The benefits of 85g come from an additional feature: the independently rotating boom allows it to work closer to the limit, around the structure or in the middle of traffic, Dill says. These machines also have the ability to be equipped with Fluid coupling, enabling them to use backhoe buckets.
Inside the cab, the operator can find a liquid crystal display and a rotary dial for selecting operating modes and accessing operational data, maintenance intervals, source diagnostic codes, cab temperature, and radios. The CAB design features “Wide front and side glass, narrow cab posts, large tinted overhead hatches and numerous mirrors”for “Full visibility,”Dill said.
