Volvo construction equipment added three new electric machines

With new mini wheel loaders and excavators, Volvo will now have the broadest range of electrical equipment in the construction industry.

Volvo construction equipment announced plans to introduce three new electric mini machines, including:

  • L20 Electric mini wheel loader
  • EC18 Electric mini excavator
  • ECR18 Electric mini excavator

During the virtual launch event for the new machines, Melker Jernberg, President of Volvo CE, said the company will now have the broadest range of electric-powered equipment in the construction industry. Volvo CE will have a total of five electric machines available for the market — the previously launched ECR25 Electric mini excavator and L25 Electric wheel loader, and these three new machines.

“We are committed to building the world we want to live in,”he said. This means reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) levels, eliminating emissions, emissions, and vibration while the equipment is running, and reducing noise to create a more pleasant operating experience for customers.

“These machines will do exactly that,”says Gerenberg. “They are also expected to provide a lot of power for the [ customer’s ] business.”

The development of electric equipment is part of an effort by Volvo and the entire Volvo group to reduce emissions. In 2021, Volvo’s climate goals were endorsed by the Science Goals Initiative (SBTI) . These measures include achieving zero net greenhouse gas emissions in the value chain by 2040, with at least 35 per cent of vehicles using all electric vehicles by 2030.
